Parkridge Apartments, Oxford Street, Darlinghurst
Located in close proximity to Hyde Park, Parkridge Apartments was undergoing radical changes in building use, converting from serviced apartments to owned or tenanted units. The building was in close proximity to hotels and had been used by homeless persons as a sanctuary. The Executive Committee commissioned Beaware Solutions to assess existing security measures. CCTV systems, installed 9 years beforehand, were found to be of poor quality compared to latest IP technology. A change of usage and superceded equipment reinforced the need to upgrade access management and perimeter protection. Asset protection will ensure that the property value will increase. Beaware Solutions provided a comprehensive report that has set the foundation for security improvements.

La Maison, Gordon
La Maison Apartments, a magnificent complex of units in Gordon constructed by Southern Cross Constructions, required an Emergency Management Plan to identify practice and procedure that was compliant with Australian Standards. Beaware Solutions conducted site inspections and collaboration with Fire Safety Engineers, BCA Logic Pty Ltd, to develop strategies to ensure the safety of residents in the event of any emergency.

Hero5 is Cammeray Square, Cammeray
Cammeray Square, constructed by Southern Cross Constructions for Stockland, is a combined commercial/residential complex in the village-like suburb of Cammeray. Housing a gymnasium and child-care facility there was a need to provide an Emergency Management Plan that catered for visitors and residents alike. Working with the Fire Safety Engineers Report from Defire Pty Ltd, Beaware Solutions provided floor plans and a working document that was provided to the building management on handover.

Wesley Gardens High and Low Care, Belrose

A complex facility managed by UnitingCare-Ageing, Wesley Gardens has low-care, high-care and dementia-specific wards with aged residents. Also connected to the buildings are Administration Blocks, a Church and child-care facility. Located on the fringe of bushland at Belrose the greatest risk to the facility is bushfire. Beaware Solutions was faced with the prospect of planning for the evacuation of over 300 residents and over 60 staff in the event of such an emergency. Emergency Management Plans developed by Beaware Solutions provides clear advice and guidance to the Emergency Control Organisation within the facility. Beaware Solutions will also work with the client, Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Council and the Area Health Service in an exercise to test the effectiveness of strategies developed within the Plan.

Northaven Retirement Village, Turramurra
Located on the Pacific Highway at Turramurra and managed by UnitingCare – Ageing, Northaven Retirement Village has both low-care and high-care residents. Beaware Solutions, using AS3745, AS4083 and AS4360, was able to develop an Emergency Management Plan that satisfied the requirements for accreditation of the facility. Evacuation floor plans ensured that staff, visitors, contractors and residents were aware of evacuation procedures.
