Emergency Procedures Manual
The increasing demand to provide an Emergency Management Plan for each building or complex has provided headaches for office managers, property
managers and building owners alike. The development of emergency flip charts provides some direction but due to their format are often used as
a notepad by staff, placed in a drawer and forgotten about or drop down behind the desk of under telephone books.
Beaware Solutions has developed a hard-covered A5 folder with emergency colour-coding and actions compliant with Australian Standard 3745. The
user-friendly Emergency Procedures Manual displays all information required for emergency management and can also be used during staff inductions.
The folder can be placed upright adjacent to the telephone and is clearly defined on the front and spine of the item. The back page gives a step
by step approach for anyone receiving a threatening phone call or bomb threat.
The Emergency Procedures Manual is a generic document that can be adapted to include site-specific information, e.g. emergency contact numbers,
emergency assembly areas, Wardens etc. The Manual also has information required for the evacuation of major cities, e.g. Sydney Alert.
Developed over a number of years by emergency specialists, the Manual received some input from government bodies concerned with mass response
to emergencies.
Evacuation Floor Plans
Beaware Solutions has developed a format for the clear display of evacuation floor plans and instructions for action in the event of any
emergency. Using current CAD software, our consultants are able to produce a quality product at a reasonable price. We believe that evacuation
floor plans are a part of emergency management and should only be treated as an adjunct to any Emergency Management Plan
However, our consultants have provided evacuation floor plans without an Emergency Management Plan. Recent projects include retirement villages and
nursing homes at Kogarah and Penshurst.
